About Us

The Winnemucca Hockey Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the game of hockey and creating opportunities for youth in our community. Founded in 2019 with just nine players, our program has grown into a thriving organization serving over 50 athletes each season while introducing new families to the sport we love.

Our mission is to provide a safe, positive, and affordable environment where players of all skill levels can develop confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a lifelong passion for hockey. Whether a child is stepping onto the rink for the first time or continuing to build their skills, we believe every player deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Although Winnemucca does not yet have a dedicated ice rink, our players train locally and travel throughout Northern Nevada and the surrounding region for ice practices, games, tournaments, and special events. The dedication of our players, families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters has allowed hockey to flourish in our rural community despite the challenges.

As our program continues to grow, so does our vision. The Winnemucca Hockey Association is actively working toward bringing a dedicated ice arena to Winnemucca, creating year-round opportunities for youth and adult hockey, public skating, community events, and expanded recreational programs for generations to come.

Together, we're not just building hockey players- we're building a stronger community through teamwork, perseverance, and a shared love for the game.
